“They say it always seems impossible until it is done.” In 2017, we set out to make it faster and easier to gather training data with Playment. We gained 16 new team members, nearly doubling the team size to 40 folks.
We are excited to announce that Playment has recently raised $1.6M in pre-series A funding from Y-Combinator, Sparkland Capital, and angels such as Ryan Petersen, Max Altman, David Petersen and others. Existing investors SAIF Partners participated in this round as well to take the total funding to $2.2M till date.
Meet Deepak, our Software Developer. Working on building the world’s biggest AI-HI platform isn’t easy. Deepak is one of our stars, deeply committed to turning data into functional learning models, while ensuring that we are always scalable.
Siddharth nodded encouragingly while attacking a plate of rajma chawal. I was describing key learnings at my soon-to-be-previous-job at a major E-commerce firm. Next, Ajinkya, one of the co-founders of the company walked in from his game of squash, still in sweatpants. We proceeded to talk about the future of crowdsourcing, data mining and exciting applications of AI. At the end of this casual-seeming ‘interview’ they offered me the job. How did Project Manager at Playment sound? I considered accepting on the spot. A part of me wondered if I was out of my mind.
